USS Missouri

Three ships of the United States Navy (and one of the Confederate Navy) have borne the name USS Missouri in honor of the 24th state.

USS Missouri, 10, a sidewheel frigate, made the first powered crossing of the Atlantic by a steam warship and was lost to fire at Gibraltar prior to the American Civil War.

USS Missouri (BB-11), a Maine-class battleship, sailed with the Great White Fleet.

USS Missouri (BB-63), a Iowa-class battleship, was the last battleship completed by the United States.
