Trent University

Trent University is a small liberal arts oriented institution located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

Trent has about 6400 students and it specializes in the liberal arts. It also has one of Canada's best continuing education departments.

The university is divided into a series of colleges. Chaplain, Lady Eaton, Catharine Parr Traill (named after the author), Otonabee, and Gzowski (named after Casimir Gzowski). Each college has its own residence hall, dining room, and student government.

It was opened in 1964 to deal with the influx of baby boomers into Canadian universites. Originally located in an old high school it moved to its campus just outside of Peterbourough in 1966.

Trent is also home to the Bata Library.
