Tórshavn (Danish: Thorshavn) is the capital of the Faeroe Islands, a territory of Denmark. The city is located on Streymoy island and has 16,000 inhabitants.

The city was founded in the 10th century CE, and was temporarily occupied during World War II by the British (1942-1945).
