The röntgen equivalent man or rem is an obsolete unit of radiation dose. It is the product of the absorbed dose in roentgen and the biological efficiency of the radiation. The corresponding SI derived unit is the sievert.

Not to be confused with REM, the stage of sleep, or R.E.M, the rock band.
