Most over-the-counter medicationgenerally consideredbe safe enough thataverage person will not kill themselves accidentally by takingas instructed.
Medicationstypically produced by pharmaceutical companies. Such drugs may be patented, wherebycompany demonstrateshas creatednovel compoundholdssole rightsproduction or licensingthat compound forlimited periodtime (usually 20 years). Medications thatnot patentedcalled generic drugs.
