Meansprotection

A meansprotectionsome contract or guaranteesecuritybody or property. Itusually achieved, inmodern state society, by agreeingsome social contract includingmonopoly on violence, e.g. placing policemilitary powers undercontrolan authority obeying some predictable theorycivics that guarantees such protection.

This termparticularly relevantanarchismminarchy, where no monopoly on violence may exist, or wheremay not have powersinterveneall situations, e.g.may protect body but take no position as'property'.

A meansprotectionparticularly important when consideringmeansproduction, infrastructural capital, or natural resources associal asset. Without such means, anyone can confiscateuseasset.

Whenprivate party threatens harm forspecific purposeoffering some meansprotection later, this isprotection racket -serious crimemost legal codes.
