Grey area
A grey area isterm forborder in-between two or more things thatunclearly defined,border thatharddefine or even impossibledefine, ordefinition wheredistinction border tendsmove. Thereseveral flavorsgrey areas:
- A grey areadefinitions signifiesproblemsorting reality into clearly cut categories. Example: where isborder between eroticapornography?
- A grey arealawan area where no clear law or precedent exists, or wherelaw has not been applied inlong time thus makingunclear if itapplicable at all.
- A grey areaethics signifies an ethical dilemma, whereborder between rightwrongblurred. Example: is killing always abominable?
Many people accept grey areas asnatural part ofhuman experience, whereas others may reactsuspicion andfeelingdefectness or uncompletenessany thought-system (or paradigm) accepting grey areas.
