Greens
Greenspeople who support some or allgoals ofGreen Party without necessarily workingor votingthat or any party. Mostthem consider themselvesbe part at least ofglobal Green movement. A potentially basisunityGreens could be Green values (as made explicit inFour Pillarsother documents), but even these aren't shared by all people who see themself as Greens.Historically, "being green" developed as an political identity together withblooming ofpeace movement,ecology movement andfeminist movement inlate 1970s,timefirst green parties onlocal level were founded.
Different kindsGreens
A small sample offactions or tendencies that exist onmovement's fringe -- some onlyvery small numbers:
- Pacifist Greenthose who reject violence entirely, even that done by lawsvotes,do not generally support even simple Electoral Reform. They may support an NGO such as Greenpeace, or more radical groups engageddestructionproperty that propagates violence.
- Deep Greens followascetic ethicsSpinoza, Mohandas Gandhiindigenous peoples. Theyusually rural people who prefer wild"tamed" living. Cf. alsoideologydeep ecology.
- Wild Greens areyouth movementNew Zealand Green Party, committeddirect actiontaking bodily risksprotect nature.
- Soylent Greensmore nihilistic,employ reverse psychologypurposesculture jamming. They often alternate wildurban modes - andgenerally very secretive. They also acceptlabel Terrists. See alsoterm Soylent Green
