Generation isactproducing offspring, or procreation. Italsoactbringing something into being. A generation can also bestage or degree insuccessionnatural descent (such as grandfather, father,sonthree generations) or stagessuccessive improvement indevelopmentsomething, such as computers.

A generation can also represent allpeople born at aboutsame time. Historians hold differing opinions aswhat extent dividing history into generationsuseful or an improper over-generalization. Some named generations: Silent Generation -- Baby Boomers -- Generation X -- Generation Y
