Cromwell current

The Cromwell current (also called Pacific Equatorial Undercurrent or just Equatorial Undercurrent) is a submarine river: A particular kind of ocean current that is, in effect, a river flowing under the surface of an ocean.

Submarine rivers are very fascinating and attract the attention of scientists and oceanographers. These beautiful mysteries of the nature show us that the human has still lots of things to discover.

Cromwell was discovered in 1952. It is 250 miles wide and flows to the east. It is hidden 300 feet under the surface of the Pacific Ocean in Equator. It has 1000 times the volume of Mississippi and its length is 3500 miles.

The Cromwell current was listed in the 1964 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.
