Conecuh County is a
county of the
State of
Alabama. Its name is an
American Indian word, of unknown significance. As of
2000 the population was 14,089. Its
county seat is
Evergreen.
History
\nConecuh County was established on
February 13,
1818.
Geography
\nAccording to the
U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,208
km² (853
mi²). 2,204 km² (851 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.20% water.
