Boston Braves

1) The Boston Braves were a team in the National League of Major League Baseball, until 1953, when they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become the Milwaukee Braves. In 1966 they moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where they now play as the Atlanta Braves.

For a detailed team history, see Atlanta Braves.

2) The Boston Braves were a team in the National Football League in 1932, when a franchise was awarded to George Preston Marshall, whose racial policies kept black athletes from playing for his team, and eventually from the entire league. In 1936, he changed the name of the team to the Boston Redskins, and in 1937 to the Washington Redskins when he moved the franchise.

For a detailed team history, see Washington Redskins.
