Bodh Gaya

Bodh Gaya or Bodhgaya is the location in India of Gautama Siddhartha's attainment of Enlightenment. The complex, about 60 miles from Patna in the state of Bihar, holds the Mahabodhi Temple with the diamond throne (called the Vajrasana) and the holy Bodhi tree. For Buddhists, this is one of four pilgrimage sites designated by Gautama Buddha, the other three being Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sarnath.

Bodh Gaya, as of 2002, is an UNESCO World Heritage Site specifically nominated for the international World heritage program.
